The points of entry in Crete are the airports of Heraklion, Chania and Sitia, as well as the three main ports of the island at Heraklion, Chania and Rethymno. The two airports, in Chania and in Heraklion, are international and service regular domestic routes as well as routes to European countries. The one in Sitia is domestic and services flights from and to selected destinations within Greece. During summer there are many chartered flights, while for Crete there are also several low budget companies.
When you arrive at the ports or airports of these towns, you can rent a car, use the public bus services that get to Rethymno or even take a taxi.
